Asset Reserved Attributes

About Reserved Attributes for an Asset Instance

GE Digital APM reserves certain attribute names in order to standardize similar functionality across all applications. As a result, specific default attribute names are reserved for system use.

Reserved attributes are predefined properties commonly used for node asset instances when they are ingested. Reserved attributes for an asset instance are inherited from the associated asset classification. You can add or edit values for the predefined attributes in an asset instance.

Values can be single or multiple. Multiple values are only available for the reserved attributes that show the List values link. List values options are created during asset configuration and cannot be added by you. The value format must match the data type configured for the asset instance. The data type for a reserved attribute cannot be changed by you.

Values for reserved attributes may be left blank.

For more information on the different scenarios, refer to the Expected Behavior for Reserved Attributes documentation.
