Changing the Default Local License Server Port
If the default port number (3333) for the Proficy License Server needs to be changed, you can modify it in the server configuration file and then update the Local License Server Administration Tool with the new port. This ensures continued communication between the clients and the server.

Modifying the Default Local License Server Port Number (3333)
- Perform the following steps to stop the Proficy License Server in Windows
services:
- Right-click the Windows Start menu, and then click Computer Management.
- Click Services and Applications and then,
double-click
Services.
- Click Proficy License Server and click Stop to stop the Proficy License Server service.
- Navigate to the License Server install folder (typically: C:\Program Files (x86)\Proficy\Proficy License Server).
- Make a copy of the existing
properties.xml
file for backup. - Edit the
properties.xml
file by changing <listen-http-port value="3333" /> to the desired new port number. - Save the file.
- Restart the Proficy License Server in Windows Services.
- On the license server, run the Proficy License Server Configuration/Admin Tool and configure the new port number.
- Save the configuration.
- On the client machines, run the Proficy License Client Wizard and update the port number.
- Save the client configuration.
Updating the Modified Port Number in the Local License Server Administration Tool
After modifying the default port number for the License Server, you must update the Local License Server Administration Tool with the new port number to ensure proper communication between the client and server.
- In the Local License Server Administration Tool, select the Server Operations tab.
- Select Edit Connection Settings.
- Enter the new server port number.
- Select Save.
