- Step 1: Review Order Email and Download Proficy Software
  The order email contains important information and links to download the Proficy software, helping you quickly access the installers you need. Reviewing the order details ensures that you have the correct Proficy software to download and install. You can download the Proficy installers either from the links provided in the order email or by visiting the GE Vernova Support website, where you can access the entire product list. Downloading the right software is crucial to ensure your Proficy system is set up correctly and functions efficiently.

- Applying Proficy Licenses using Tag Pooling from Cloud Server
  You can now manage your SCADA systems by activating and distributing additional tags using the tag pooling feature. This method allows efficient allocation of tags without the need for new licenses. Currently, the tag pooling is available for SCADA iFIX and CIMPLICITY product licenses.
- Applying Proficy Licenses using Tag Pooling from a Local Server
  The tag pooling feature enables you to allocate, distribute, or return additional tags (database blocks) from a local license server, streamlining SCADA system management. Currently, this feature is available for SCADA iFIX and CIMPLICITY product software licenses, providing flexibility for local servers.

  You can download a product ISO file for the Proficy product you purchased using the link provided in your order email or directly from the GE Vernova Support website. This process ensures you receive the correct version of the product, enabling installation or deployment across your systems. The ISO file contains a complete image of the software, which is essential for setting up or updating your product.

Licensing Quick Start Overview

Have you just purchased a GE Vernova product(s) and received an order email from GE Vernova? To use a GE Vernova product on your system, you must setup and activate licensing. The following steps explain how to get started quickly with your product licensing.

To configure Proficy Common Licensing on your computer (physical machine or virtual machine), you should go through the following:

Prerequisites

Use the following links to check the supported operating system requirements and virtual machines. Ensure you have enough disk space and memory.

1. Review Order Email and Download Proficy Software

You will receive an order e-mail from GE Vernova after your successful purchase of GE Vernova products. Login to the Support website using the same e-mail address as specified in the order email. For more details, refer Step 1: Review Order Email and Download Proficy Software.

Note:

If you need to create a DVD for your product installations instead of using the downloaded installation files, refer to the Creating a DVD from an ISO Image section for more information.

2. Install Proficy Software

Install the required licensing software: License Client, Local License Server, and/or License Server Tools. The software required to activate your licenses depends on whether you are using a physical machine or a virtual machine. See Step 2: Install Proficy Software.

Note:

It is recommended that you always install the latest version of licensing software from the Support website, along with your product downloads.

After installing the licensing software, restart your computer.

3. Activate Licenses

In License Client, the Activate Licenses tab provides several options for activating a license on your computer. You can select one of the options based on your system configuration. For detailed steps, refer Step 3: Activate Licenses.
