Applying Proficy Licenses using Tag Pooling from a Local Server
The tag pooling feature allows you to activate, allocate, distribute, or return additional Proficy licenses from a local license server, enabling efficient management of SCADA systems. This feature lets you add tags (database blocks) to your base Proficy license without needing to reorder new licenses. Tag pooling offers flexibility for local server environments and is currently available for SCADA iFIX and CIMPLICITY product software licenses.
Before you begin
- Ensure Proficy Common Licensing software version 21.2 or later is installed.
- Verify that the Local Server URL and port are correctly configured.
Procedure
-
Launch the Local License Server Administration Tool, select the Licenses tab.
The Licenses Activated On Server page appears.
-
Select Add Licenses.
The Add Licenses To Server page appears.
-
Enter the 16-digit alphanumeric activation code from your GE Vernova order email.
Tag pooling activation codes are typically described as: PROFICYSCADA-POOL
Add On in the order email.
Note:You must have an activated base Proficy product license (example: SCADA Proficy iFIX Server) to apply the tag pooling code. If the base Proficy product license is not active, the tag pooling code will not work.
-
Enter the required number of license tags in the input box.

want to add in the Add input box.
