AMS Data Sources

Access AMS Asset Data Sources

Procedure

  1. In the module navigation menu, select Admin > Operations Manager > Connections.
  2. Select AMS Asset Data Sources.
    The AMS Asset Data Sources workspace appears, displaying the AMS Asset Data Sources workspace from which you can add new data sources, or view a list of existing data sources.

Create an AMS Asset Data Source Record

Procedure

  1. Access the AMS Asset Data Source workspace, and then select New Data Source.
    The AMS Data Source Configuration: New Data Source page appears.
  2. On the AMS Data Source Configuration: New Data Source page configure the following:
    • Web Service Detail : Establishes the connection between the AMS data source and GE Digital APM's web services.
      Note: If you will collect data from AMS Analytics data sources using message queues, you will need to select the Use Message Queuing check box in the AMS Analytics Data Source record.
    • Detailed Report Details : Stores connection information to populate AMS Data source data, and is automatically populated when you enter a valid URL in the URL box in the Web Service Details section.
    • Scheduling Setting: Establishes the schedule for the data collection process.
    • Status : Stores information about the status of data collection.
  3. Select Save.
    An AMS Asset Data Source record is created.

Schedule Data Collection

Procedure

  1. Access the AMS Data Source Configuration: New Data Source page, and then select Scheduling Settings.
  2. Select Edit Schedule for each of the following to determine the data collection schedule for each item in the Scheduling Settings section:
    • AMS Asset Schedule
    • AMS Asset Alert Schedule
    • AMS Asset Event Schedule
    Important: To ensure that the data collection schedule is executed, each occurrence should be at a different time. If schedules are at the exact same time, the collection process will fail.
  3. In the Edit Schedule window, select either the One Time or Recurrence box.
  4. In the Time Zone section, use the drop-down to select the appropriate time zone.

  6. In the Every section, enter the numeric value indicating how often you want the generation to occur and select the appropriate interval unit (i.e., minutes, hours, years, etc).
  7. In the Every section, select one of the following:
    • From start time: To start the recurrence from the previously selected start time.
    • After last occurrence: To begin the generation after the last time the job ran.
  8. In the End box, based on when you want the recurrence to end, use the drop-down to select one of the following:
    • Never: The recurrence will not end.
    • After: To enter a number of occurrences after which the generation will end.
    • Time & Date: To use the calendar to select a time and date when the generation will end.
  9. Select OK.
  10. In the AMS Asset Event History row, enter the time interval, and then use the drop-down to select the unit of time.
  11. Select Save.
    The schedule is specified.
