RBI Recommendation Implementation
RBI: Recommendation Implementation
This workflow describes the process of:
- Reviewing the risks and actions that are created from the recommendations promoted to Asset Strategy Management.
- Reviewing the inspections tasks linked to an asset
- Modifying the existing tasks or creating new tasks
Blue text in a shape indicates that a description is provided for that step in the following sections. For more information, refer to the topic Interpreting the Workflow Diagrams.
Recommendation Management
Persona: Analyst
Go to the Recommendation Management workflow.
Risks and Actions
Persona: Analyst
After you promote an analysis to Asset Strategy Management, the recommendations linked to the analysis are converted into actions. The damage mechanisms are converted into risks.
Review Risks and Actions
Persona: Analyst
Review the Risks and Actions created in Asset Strategy Management to verify if implementing the suggested actions will mitigate the risk to below the risk threshold values. You cannot edit the Unmitigated Risk Assessment for the Risk and the Mitigated Risk Assessment for the Action coming from an RBI Analysis. You can, however, add adhoc Action to mitigate the risk.
Add Additional Actions
Persona: Analyst
If you think that the suggested Actions will not mitigate the risk to below the risk threshold values, create an adhoc Action in the Asset Strategy that has been created after promoting the RBI Analysis to Asset Strategy Management.
Baseline Strategy
Persona: Analyst
If you want to approve the RBI Analysis and the Recommendations for implementation in Asset Strategy Management, you must baseline the Asset Strategy so that its state changes to Active.
Review Recommendation
Persona: Analyst
Review all recommendations resulting from the RBI Analysis. It is common that multiple recommendations are generated for each RBI Component evaluated (at least one for each damage mechanism that is evaluated). Recommendations generated for all the RBI Components of an Asset need to be reviewed together to develop an appropriate Mitigating Strategy for that Asset.
Are Actions Strategic?
Persona: Analyst
If the user approves the RBI Analysis and the Recommendations, some of the RBI Recommendations are meant for Inspection Activities, while others may be meant for redesign, repair, and replacement activities.
Actions
Persona: Analyst
If the Asset Strategy is not strategic, then the Actions will be sent to Asset Strategy Implementation (ASI) for SAP.
ASI for SAP
Persona: Analyst
Go to the ASI for SAP workflow.
Review Existing Tasks for the Asset
Persona: Analyst
Review the tasks that are already linked to the asset for which you have created an Asset Strategy to determine whether the existing tasks capture the recommended actions. For example, if there is an Action that instructs you to perform an annual inspection on the asset, verify if there is already a task for annual inspection on the asset.
Link Action to Existing Task
Persona: Analyst
If an existing Inspection Task provides the same instructions as an Action, link the Action to the Task. You can modify the Task if needed. You can link only one Inspection Task to an Action. If you have performed an RBI 580 analysis, these tasks must be recurring. If you have performed an RBI 581 analysis, then these tasks must be non-recurring.
Create New Task, and Link to Action
Persona: Analyst
If an appropriate Task does not yet exist, create a new task to implement one action. Link the newly created Task to the Action. The newly created Task will be populated with appropriate information from the Action. If you have performed an RBI 580 analysis, these tasks must be recurring. If you have performed an RBI 581 analysis, then these tasks must be non-recurring.
Inspection Tasks
Persona: Analyst
The asset strategy may be implemented as Tasks that have been defined directly from actions in the asset strategy. These Tasks are typically managed in the Inspection Management or Thickness Monitoring modules.
Inspection Planning
Persona: Analyst
