A user activity defines part of a user-defined process in a workflow process step. For a workflow to run, all user activities must be valid (contain no errors) and enabled (active).

  - Activities Used to Create Workflows
    Activities comprise the main building blocks or steps that perform the actions in a subprocess or workflow.
  - Third-party Activities
    Workflow can utilize third-party activities that are compatible with Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation.

    A user activity defines part of a user-defined process in a workflow process step. For a workflow to run, all user activities must be valid (contain no errors) and enabled (active).
    - Add a user activity to a subprocess
      When user activities are created in the resource list, they are available to be added to a subprocess or process step and configured.
    - Make a local copy of a global user activity
    - Make a locally created user activity global
      If you are using a user activity in a subprocess that you want to use again in another workflow, you can add it to the global User Activities resources list.

    These activities are used when you require workflow logic to start an event during run time.
  - Keyword Activities
    You can use keywords to replace text in work instructions and email subjects and bodies. This text is replaced with keyword values in a workflow at run time.
  - Operator Activities
    These activities are used by operators when a workflow is running the Task List.

    These activities are used when working with the eSOP Editor.

Properties

You can use the following properties to work with user activities in a workflow:

Property	Type	Description
Global User Activity	DirectoryResource	Specifies the global resource that defines the activity. This activity is null if the user activity is local. The property is read only.
Is Global User Activity	Boolean	Indicates that the activity is a global user activity. The property is read only.
