Configure the Data Archiver Account for Remote Storage
About this task
By default, the Data Archiver service is installed under the LocalSystem account, which has no credentials to access network resources. In order to use Remote Storage, you must first configure the Data Archiver service to run under a user account that has read/write access to the network location.
Procedure
- Stop the Data Archiver service.
- Open the Services Control Panel.
- Right-click the Historian Data Archiver service, and select Properties
- Select Log On.
- In the Log on as field, select This Account .
- Enter the user account using which you want to run the Data Archiver service. This account must have write privileges to your Storage Area Network.
- Enter the password for the user account.
- Restart the Data Archiver service.
