Add a Failure Mode Node to the Logic Tree

This topic describes how to add a Failure Mode node to the Logic Tree from the design canvas. You can also copy an existing Failure Mode node, import an existing RCA Failure Mode node, or import a failure mode from FMEA and RCM.

Steps

  1. Access the Logic Tree Diagram to which you want to add Failure Mode node.
  2. In the upper portion of the workspace, in the Palette section, select , and then use the drag-and-drop method to add the icon to the Failure Event node in the design canvas.

    The Properties window appears, displaying the datasheet for the selected Failure Mode node.

  3. In the Label field, enter a description of the failure mode as you want it to appear on the Logic Tree. This field is required.
  4. In the Description field, enter a description of the failure mode.
  5. Select .

    The RCA Failure Mode node is saved and automatically linked to the RCA Event and the RCA.
