Create Custom Calculation Policies

Steps

  1. Create a new policy to represent your custom DME calculations.

    IMPORTANT: Make sure that your new policy is activated.

  2. On the Policy Designer page, in the left pane, select Design.

    The Design workspace appears.

  3. In the workspace, in the Inputs section, select , and then select Entity.

    A new Entity node appears.

  4. Select the new Entity node, and then, in the Properties window, in the Family ID box, select the family of the custom DME you are calculating.

    Note: Repeat steps 4 and 5 to add any other entity nodes required for calculations, such as the related Analysis, Consequence Evaluation calculations, or other families that are related to the same analysis.
  5. Using the Calculation nodes, perform all calculations needed on the Entity node.

  6. On the workspace heading, in the Actions section, select , and then select Edit Entity.

    A new Edit Entity node appears in the Design workspace.

  7. Connect the DME calculation nodes created in step 4 to the Edit Entity node.

  8. Select the Edit Entity node , and in the Properties window:

  9. In the upper-left corner of the workspace, select .

    The custom DME calculation policy is created.

    IMPORTANT: No outputs are created from this policy. All updates and calculations resulting from the policy are updated in the Edit Entity node.
