Restoring Archives using Volume Shadow Copy Service on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Note: To access backup and recovery tools for Windows Server 2008, you must install backup and recovery tools first. Procedure

  1. Select Start, point to All Programs > Administrative Tools, and then select Windows Server Backup.
    The Windows Server Backup Wizard appears.
  2. In the Actions pane, select Restore.
    The Recovery Wizard appears.
  3. Select the appropriate option that contains the backup and then select Next.
    The Select Backup Date page appears.
  4. Select the date and time of backup you want to restore from and then select Next.
    The Select Recovery Type page appears.
  5. Expand the folder tree, select the items that you want to restore, and then select Next.
    The Specify Recovery Options page appears.
  6. Select the appropriate storage option and then select Next.
    The Confirmation page appears.
  7. Select Recover.
    The Recover Progress page appears.
  8. When the recovery process completes, select Close.

What to do next

After restoring the archives files (that is, .bkf or .vhd into .iha) using the Windows Restore wizard is complete, you must restore the archives (.iha) into Historian.
