Install Operations Hub from a Dedicated Installer
This topic describes how to install Operations Hub from its dedicated installer.
Before you begin
- Ensure that the machine on which you want to install Operations Hub meets the system requirements.
- Use a machine that does not host any applications that are bundled with Operations Hub.
- Run a Windows update (including security updates).
- Use a host name that contains up to 24 characters and any of the following
characters:
- Alphabetic characters
- Numeric characters
- Minus
- Period
- Ensure that you have administrative privileges to the machine on which you want to install Operations Hub.
About this task
- First time installation: You can choose to provide the same user name and password for Operations Hub tenant admin and Configuration Hub. This will allow you to use the same credentials to log in to both the applications.
- Re-installation: If re-installing Operations Hub without DB purge, provide the same user name and password as the earlier install. If you provide a different set of credentials other than the tenant admin credentials used in the initial install, the user ID will not match what already exists in Proficy Authentication (UAA). As a result, users will not be able to log into Operations Hub.
Procedure
- Download the Operations Hub 2023 ISO install media from the Salesforce and mount the file.

From the ISO folder, double-click
Setup.bat
to run the file.The welcome screen appears. -
On the welcome screen, you must first install Configuration Hub and Proficy
Authentication before installing Operations Hub.

On the welcome screen, select Operations Hub.

Accept the license agreement to continue with the install.
The Install Location screen appears and validates for port conflicts.

Browse and select a location for installation, then continue to the next
screen.
If port conflicts are detected, you must fix them before proceeding to the next screen.
If there are no conflicts, the Operations Hub Credentials screen appears. -
Create these login credentials for Operations Hub and proceed to the next
screen.
USERNAME Enter a user name, which you can use to login to the Operations Hub application. For example,
ch_admin
PASSWORD Enter a password for your Operations Hub user login. CONFIRM PASSWORD Enter the password again to confirm. The Select Proficy Authentication screen appears. -
Complete the following and proceed to the next screen.
Use Locally Installed Proficy Authentication If you select this check box, then the local instance of Proficy Authentication will be used. If you want to use an external Proficy Authentication (UAA), then leave this check box blank and proceed to provide more details.Note: Prior to Operations Hub installation, you must have a local or remote instance of Proficy Authentication installed. The Operations Hub installation will not be allowed to continue if you select Use Locally Installed Proficy Authentication and it is not detected.BASE URL Enter the url address to access the Proficy Authentication application. For example,
https://win10vm2/uaa
ADMIN CLIENT ID Enter the administrator client id to login to Proficy Authentication. For example,
admin
ADMIN CLIENT SECRET Enter the secret password for the Proficy Authentication administrator client id. CERTIFICATE FILE You can browse and select the security certificate, (or) let the system do it for you. When you test for validation, the system provides you with an option to use a detected certificate as shown here:TEST Select this option to validate all your field entries. The validation results appear on the Test External Proficy Authentication screen, wherein you can do the following:- Add and trust self-identified base url
- Add detected security certificate
Proceed to next only after the validation test is successful as shown here:VIEW Select this option if you want to open and check the added security certificate. The Registration with Configuration Hub screen appears. -
Complete the following and proceed to the next screen.
Note: We provide Configuration Hub login credentials that we already created. Refer to step 4a in the Install Common Components topic.
Register After Install If you select this check box, then you can skip registering Operations Hub with the Configuration Hub application for now. You will then need to register after the current Operations Hub installation using the application shortcut on the Desktop. Refer to Register Operations Hub with Configuration Hub. If you choose to register along with the current Operations Hub installation, then leave this check box blank and proceed to provide more details.
BASE URL Enter the url address to access the Configuration Hub application. For example,
https://sbbuaahco.meridium.com:5000/container-svc
CLIENT ID Enter the client id created for logging in to Configuration Hub. For example,
admin
CLIENT SECRET Enter the secret password created for your Configuration Hub client id. The Start Install screen appears. -
Select from the following install options:
Silent Install Select this option if you want to run a silent installation of products without any further user interaction or input. Refer to the Install Operations Hub in Unattended Mode topic in the Operations Hub documentation. Interactive Install Select this option if you want to install the following: - Refer to the Install Dataflow Editor topic in the Operations Hub documentation.
- Select START to start the installation.

After the installation is complete, select CLOSE.
A message appears asking whether you want to restart your computer, or install more products.
- Select Reboot Now to restart your computer.
