Change the State of an RCA Hypothesis

When an RCA Hypothesis is created, the state is set to Hypothesis by default. Based on the Verifications, each RCA Hypothesis can then be tested and proven True or Not True, and then you can change the state of the Hypothesis accordingly.

Steps

Access the Logic Tree diagram in which you want to change the state of a Hypothesis.
In the design canvas, select the Hypothesis whose state you want to change, and then select .

The Properties window appears, displaying the datasheet for the selected node.

Hint: You can also change the state of a Hypothesis from the States panel. To do so, select the Hypothesis, and then select .
In the State list, select one of the following:
- Hypothesis True if the hypothesis has been confirmed. After you determine a hypothesis to be true, you can identify the root cause of the Failure Event.
- Hypothesis Not True if the hypothesis has been ruled out.
Select .

The State of the Hypothesis is saved.
