Promote Pending Recommended Actions to Asset Strategy Management (ASM)

You can promote Recommended Actions associated with an analysis to Asset Strategy Management (ASM). After you promote the Recommended Actions, they are appended to a strategy that has been created for the Asset that is linked to the analysis.

In the baseline GE Digital APM system, you can promote only those Recommended Actions that are in the Pending state. You can, however, change this behavior by modifying the Recommended Action states.

Steps

Access the analysis whose Recommended Actions you want to promote. The following modules have this functionality:
In the Analysis Details pane of the analysis containing the pending Recommended Actions that you want to promote to ASM, select .

A window appears, confirming that you want to promote all pending Recommended Actions for this analysis to ASM.
Select OK.

All pending Recommended Actions for the selected analysis are promoted to ASM.

Results

The state of the promoted Recommended Actions is changed to Accepted by ASM.

Tip: The Recommended Actions pane displays a list of only Pending Recommended Actions by default. If you want to see the promoted recommendations, then change the filter criteria to show Recommended Actions that are Accepted by ASM.
An Action is created in ASM for each promoted Recommended Action. These Actions are linked to the Strategy that has been created for the Asset that is linked to the Analysis. If there is no Strategy for the Asset, a new strategy is created.
Each Recommended Action is linked to a Risk Assessment (Unmitigated and Mitigated). When the Recommended Actions are promoted to ASM, these assessments are linked to the promoted Actions.
