Overview: Connecting to an OLE DB Data Provider

To connect to an OLE DB data provider:

1. Open the VisiconX Data Control OLE Properties dialog box. For information on how to do this in your product, refer to the Accessing VisiconX OLE Control Properties section.
2. From the Provider tab, select an OLE DB data provider.
3. Optionally, clear the Automatically Connect To Database In Run Mode check box if you do not want to automatically connect to the data provider in Run Mode.
4. Click the Database tab.
5. Enter the connection information for the OLE DB data provider you selected.
6. If access to the OLE DB data provider is secured, enter the necessary security information.
7. Click Test Connection to test the OLE DB data provider connection.
