About Alarms and Events Calculations

When building calculation formulas using the wizard, you can include an alarm calculation. This function type incorporates a wide range of alarms and events operations, which allows you to add and update alarms and alarm properties.

Unlike the other functions in the Calculation collector, the alarm functions use an alarm object to store information about the alarms and events data. The alarm object uses an alarm class, which contains all the information that Historian needs to work with the alarms and events data. All operations for alarms and events calculations are performed on an alarm object. In the examples in this topic and related topics, the name AlarmObj is used to signify the object. This name can be changed to suit your needs.
