Installing ODBC Data Collector

About this task

You can install the ODBC Data Collector using the Historian software DVD and selecting the Collectors section. The Historian Data Collector for ODBC consists of a System API and Collector Toolkit components.

Optionally, you can perform an install via the command line. For information on this install, refer to Historian Data Collectors > Installing a Collector via the Command Line.

Procedure

  1. Insert the Historian install media and click Historian Collectors.
    The Welcome to Historian Collectors screen appears.

  2. Click Next.
    A screen displays a list of collectors and prompts you to choose the collector(s) to install.
  3. Select the ODBC Collector check box and click Next.
    The Source Server Configuration screen appears.

  4. Enter the server name, user name, and server password for the ODBC server, then click Next.
    The Is your destination Historian or Predix Cloud screen appears.

  5. Select Historian and click Next.
    The Provide the name of the Destination Historian Server screen appears.

  6. Enter the name of the Destination Historian Server server and click Next.
  7. When the installer indicates that it is ready to install the collector, click Install.
    The installation begins and a success message appears when the installation completes.
  8. Click Finish.
