Define Tracing and Logging
Use the GE HMI Server Configuration Manager to configure the tracing and logging settings for the Alarm Gateway and Data Distributor.
- In the GE HMI Server Configuration Manager, select the Alarm Gateway/Data Distributor tab.
- In the Alarm Gateway section, do the following:
- In the Application Trace Level field, define the logging level for Alarm Gateway.
- In the OPC UA Trace Level field, define the logging level for the messages used to communicate with an OPC UA server.
- In the Max Log File Backups field, define the maximum number of log files to store in the log folder before overwriting the oldest log files with a newer one.
- In the Max Log File Entries field, define the maximum number of log entries a log file can contain before creating a new log file.
- To view the Alarm Gateway log files, select Log Files.
- In the Data Distributor section, do the following:
- In the Trace Level field, define the logging level for the Data Distributor.
- In the Enable Log Packets field, indicate if you want to display the communication packet content, such as subscription requests, for the Data Distributor.
- In the Max Log File Backups field, define the maximum number of log files to store in the log folder before overwriting the oldest log file with a newer one.
- In the Max Log File Entries field, define the maximum number of log entries a log file can contain before creating a new log file.
- To view the Data Distributor log files, select Log Files.
