Link a Protective Instrument Loop Logic Solver

IMPORTANT: If you modify a Protective Instrument Loop Element that is linked to more than one protective instrument loop, the changes that you have made are reflected in all the associated protective instrument loops.

Note: Linking a Protective Instrument Loop Logic Solver alters the calculations for the protective instrument loop. Therefore, you must access the calculations again.

Steps

  1. Access the Protective Instrument Loop Logic Solver that you want to replace.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the datasheet, select Link.

  3. In the upper-right corner of the window, select .

  4. Select the check box that corresponds to the Logic Solver that you want to link, and then select OK.
  5. Depending on the message that appears, select Proceed or OK.

    If the Protective Instrument Loop Logic Solver that you want to replace is also linked to another loop, select Proceed.

    Note: If you want to access the list of Protective Instrument Loops linked to the Protective Instrument Loop Logic Solver that you want to replace, select Show Details.

    -or-

    If the Protective Instrument Loop Logic Solver that you want to replace is not linked to any other loop, a message appears, indicating that the Protective Instrument Loop Logic Solver will be deleted. Select OK.

    The original Protective Instrument Loop Logic Solver is replaced by the one that you have selected.
