If the driver loads but does not start polling:
- Verify that the servers, groups, and items are enabled. You can examine these properties in the OPC Client Power Tool.
- If iFIX is not your Human-Machine Interface (HMI) software, make sure the Auto Start option is turned on:
- From the Options menu, choose Setup. The Setup dialog box appears.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- From the I/O Server area, click the Auto Start On option button.
- Specify a default path and configuration file name for the driver:
- From the Options menu, click Setup. The Setup dialog box appears.
- Select the Default Path tab.
- Enter the configuration file’s default name and default path in the fields provided.
- Examine the Connection Status of the OPC server in the Power Tool. Select the server in the Tree Browser and from the Display Mode menu, select Stats Mode. If the value in the Server Status field is not Connected, clear the server’s Enable check box and then re-select it to force the driver to reconnect to the server.
- If you are starting the driver from iFIX, verify that IOCNTRL starts from the System Configuration Utility (SCU). You should have a /a on the command line for the IOCNTRL program to start the driver automatically. Refer to Setting the I/O Driver for Automatic Setup in iFIX to learn more about the command line for the IOCNTRL program.
