Modifying the Alarm Queues

You may find that certain alarm queues require more space than their default size. You can prevent alarm loss by adjusting the size of these queues. For example, suppose you find that the maximum size of the Alarm Summary queue on a View client should be 300 alarms.

By changing the queue size in the SCU, you allow iFIX to allocate all the memory needed for the queue at start-up. This eliminates the possibility of losing alarms later. Each queue can hold up to 32,767 alarms.
