About the GE Digital APM Mobile Application

APM provides a mobile app that can be installed on iOS, Android, and Windows devices.

This app offers certain APM functionality designed specifically for use offline and includes the following modules:
  • Mobile Proof Testing
  • Rounds Data Collection
  • SIS Management
Note: Currently, Legacy GE Digital APM Mobile app for Windows application does not support GeoLocation feature during data collection. This feature will be re-enabled in the future releases.

Mobile Application Supported Operating Systems

Supported Operating Systems

Important:
  • Any management policy applied to mobile devices must be set up to allow the required permissions for the APM mobile application. If restrictions are placed on iOS, Windows, or Android devices by a global policy or mobile device management system, device storage, scanning, photography, location services, and other functionality may be disabled.
  • Ensure that the IP range of the mobile devices on which the APM mobile application is installed has been whitelisted.
  • If you are using a Windows device, ensure that Windows App Store access is enabled.
  • Ensure that the application is distributed to all relevant devices.

The following table lists the operating systems and corresponding versions that the APM mobile application supports.

Note: The method used to access Reference Documents in the APM mobile application will vary depending on your device platform. For example, on Windows and Android devices, the first time you access Reference Documents, you will be prompted to select the application in which you want to open a file, and this selection will then become the default. Apple iOS will always prompt you to select an application.

Install the GE Digital APM Mobile Application on an iOS Device

GE Vernova provides an iOS app that can be downloaded from the App Store and installed on your iOS device.

Procedure

  1. Access the GE Digital APM mobile application from the App Store.
    Note: If manually searching the App Store, enter GE Digital APM.
  2. Download the GE Digital APM mobile application to your device.
    The GE Digital APM mobile application is installed on your device.

Install the GE Digital APM Mobile Application on an Android Device

GE Vernova provides an Android app that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and installed on your Android device.

Procedure

  1. To access the APM mobile application, search for GE Digital APM in the Google Play Store.
  2. Download the GE Digital APM mobile application to your device.
    The GE Digital APM mobile application is installed on your device.

Install the APM Mobile Application on a Windows Device

Procedure

  1. Contact Support to receive the application package file.
  2. Access the application package file at C:\Program Files\Meridium\ApplicationServer\distribution\GEDigitalAPM.zip.
    Note: This is the default location of the application package file. The exact location at which you can obtain the application package file may differ based on your initial installation of APM.
  3. On the device on which you want to install the APM mobile application, extract the content of the application package file to a local folder.
  4. In the folder into which you extracted the application package file content, right-click Install.bat, and then select Run as an Administrator.
    Note: If you are using a touch-screen device, press and hold Install.bat, and then select Run as an Administrator.
    The APM mobile application is installed on the Windows device for all current and future Windows user accounts.
  5. Optional: To cancel future installations or uninstall the APM mobile application, in the folder into which you extracted the application package file content, right-click Uninstall.bat, and then select Run as an Administrator.
    Note: If you are using a touch-screen device, press and hold Uninstall.bat, and then select Run as an Administrator.
    The APM mobile application is uninstalled for the Windows user account that is currently logged in, and installations for future Windows user accounts are canceled.

Access APM via the Mobile Application

Before You Begin

If you are using an Android device, ensure that you have set up your device PIN prior to accessing the APM mobile application.

Procedure

  1. On a mobile device, select the APM app icon to start the application.
    The Welcome to APM Mobile page appears.
  2. In the Server box, enter the name or URL of the Predix server provided by your system administrator.
    Note:
    • You must enter the full server URL in the following format: https://<server>.

      Example: https://my.server.name.predix.io

    • Do not enter the tenant ID as part of the server URL.
  3. In the Tenant box, enter the name of the tenant provided by your system administrator.
    If you would enter https://my.server.name.predix.io/my-tenant when accessing APM via a web browser, the sign in page when you are accessing APM via the mobile application should resemble the following.

  4. Select Next.
    The sign in page appears.
  5. In the Email and Password boxes, enter your sign in information, and then select Sign in.
    • If you have signed in previously, a dashboard page appears.
    • If you are signing in for the first time, the Offline Setup page appears.
  6. If you are signing in for the first time, or if you are resetting your PIN, enter and confirm your PIN in the available boxes, and then select Complete.
    Note: This PIN comprises alphanumeric characters. To enhance data security, this PIN should be different from your APM password, which you entered in the previous step.
    You are signed in, and a dashboard page appears.

Access APM via the Mobile Application while Offline

Before You Begin

  • Sign in at least once while online.
  • You must have an offline sign-in PIN, which is separate from your APM password.

Procedure

  1. On a mobile device, select the APM app icon to start the application.
    The Welcome to APM Mobile page appears.
  2. In the Server box, enter the name or URL of the Predix server provided by your system administrator.
    Note:
    • Do not enter the tenant ID as part of the server URL.
    • You must enter the full server URL in the following format: https://<server>.

      Example: https://my.server.name.predix.io

  3. In the Tenant box, enter the name of the tenant provided by your system administrator.
    If you would enter https://my.server.name.predix.io/my-tenant when accessing APM via a web browser, the sign in page when you are accessing APM via the mobile application should resemble the following.

  4. Select Next.
    The Offline Login page appears.
  5. In the Username box, enter your APM username.
  6. In the PIN box, enter your offline sign-in PIN.
    Note:
  7. Select Sign In.
    You are signed in.

Reset Offline Sign-In PIN

Complete the following steps to reset your PIN for signing in to GE Digital APM mobile application while offline.

Before You Begin

  • You must have already configured your offline sign-in PIN when you accessed the GE Digital APM mobile application for the first time.
  • You must be online to reset your offline sign-in PIN.

About This Task

Note: If you are using an Android device on which you have configured a screen lock, if you remove the screen lock, you must reset your offline sign-in PIN for the GE Digital APM mobile application. For example, if your Android device previously required a password to unlock the screen but you changed the Screen lock setting to None, you must reset the offline sign-in PIN for the APM mobile application.

Procedure

  1. Access the GE Digital APM mobile application.
    Note: If you are on a small screen device, when you sign in to GE Digital APM, the Rounds Data Collection Overview page appears, and you have access only to Rounds Data Collection.
  2. Depending on whether you are on a large screen device or a small screen device, choose one of the following:
    • If you are on a large screen device, select , and then select Clear Offline PIN.
    • If you are on a small screen device, select , and then select Clear Offline PIN.
    Your offline sign-in PIN is cleared.
  3. Sign out of the application, and then complete the steps for accessing the GE Digital APM mobile application while online.
    When you sign in again, you will be prompted to create a new offline sign-in PIN.
