Trigger a Smart Object
About this task
After a Smart Object is created it can be triggered in both CimEdit and CimView.

A screen designer can use any of the following procedures to trigger a Smart Object in CimEdit.
- Smart Object Double-click
Double-click the Smart Object.
If the object is not a Smart Object, the Properties dialog box will open. If the object is a SmartObject whatever actions were configured for the Smart Object event (usually a customized dialog box opening) will occur.
- CimEdit Ribbon Bar
Click Trigger Smart Object on the Home>Properties group on the CimEdit Ribbon bar.

- CimEdit Popup Menu
- Right-click the Smart Object on the CimEdit screen.
A Popup menu opens.
- Select Trigger Smart Object.

CimView
The Smart Object can also be triggered in CimView.
Procedure

Right-click the Smart Object on the CimView screen.
A Popup menu opens.

Select Trigger Smart Object.
Tip: Use the ObjectInserted and ObjectRemoved events to trigger a SmartObject when it is being placed or removed from the CimEdit screen.
