GE Vernova to service Grand Rapids hydropower plant, Canada

Brossard, August 31, 2023: GE Vernova’s Hydro Power business announced today that it has been selected by Manitoba Hydro to replace the Unit-4 Kaplan runner at the 479 MW Grand Rapids Generating Station located on Saskatchewan River in Manitoba, Canada.The scope of work includes the design, fabrication, and delivery of the over 6 meter diameter runner, which will be assembled and tested at GE Vernova's Hydro Power North America shops.

Province of Ontario to deploy additional GE Hitachi BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactors

WILMINGTON, North Carolina—July 7, 2023—The Province of Ontario announced today that it is working with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to begin planning and licensing for the deployment of three additional GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) BWRX-300 small modular reactors (SMRs) at the Darlington New Nuclear Project site. A total of four BWRX-300 SMRs are now planned for deployment at the site east of Toronto.
