GE Vernova’s Haliade-X offshore turbine
The Haliade-X provides a combination of high capacity factor and annual energy production to benefit from the high wind speeds found at offshore locations.
With prototype operation beginning in 2019, the Haliade-X was the first turbine ever installed with a 12 MW generator rating and a more than 200-meter diameter rotor, giving it leading energy output at the time. Used in large commercial projects in both the Atlantic and the North Sea, the Haliade-X is constantly expanding its operational track record.
Reliable configuration
Since its introduction, the Haliade-X platform's energy output has grown by enhancing proven technology. Its robust direct drive technology is well-suited for offshore environments. Its closed loop generator cooling system keeps the generator cool and protected from even the harshest offshore environments. And the blade operating tip speed and leading-edge protection helps reduce leading-edge erosion, enhancing the turbine's power output.
