Documents typically contain information or instructions regarding the operation or task being performed, as well as the associated equipment and materials.
You can view the documents themselves, as well as standard and custom document revision properties. Documents and their properties are set up and managed in PM MES. They can be viewed in the operator client. Document identifiers appear on the left when you select the Documents tab, and documents associated with the clocked-on machine being used for an operation automatically appear in the list.
- Locate an operation using the Search option, then click the operation to view its details.
- Select an operation to view its details.
- Optional: Select the Tasks tab and acquire the appropriate task to see its documents in the list.
- Select the Documents tab to display a list of associated documents by category in the left panel.
Operation documents appear first, followed by task documents, and then other categories, which are listed alphabetically (such as equipment or materials). Equipment documents include equipment links, equipment class links, and machine links. Material documents include material definition links and material class links.
The first document in the list opens in the viewer on the right. If no associated documents exist, a "No document configured" message appears on the page.
- To view another document, browse the categories and click a document to open it in the viewer.
The document viewer automatically opens the following document types:
- PDF
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- TXT
- PNG
- JPG
These file types are also supported for PDF conversion in the PM MES Document Management module. Unsupported file formats are downloaded to your computer or device. For information on program documents for automated processes, see Uploading or Downloading CNC Program Documents.
- Optional: To view standard and custom document properties and their values, click the double-arrows on the right to open and close the Document Revision Properties panel. Standard properties are shown first, followed by custom properties.
Properties are set up and modified in PM MES. The operator client Properties display is read-only.
