Unlink a Common Cause Failure

This topic describes how to unlink a Common Cause Failure that is linked to one or more Instrumented Functions.

Steps

  1. Access the Instrumented Function that is linked to the Common Cause Failure that you want to access.
  2. In the workspace, select the SIL Assessment tab, and then select Common Cause Failures.

    The Common Cause Failures section appears, displaying a list of Common Cause Failures for the Instrumented Function.

  3. Select the row that corresponds to the Common Cause Failure that you want to unlink from an Instrumented Function.

    The Instrumented Functions that are linked to the selected Common Cause Failure are listed in the Related Instrumented Function section.

  4. In the Related Instrumented Function, select the button that corresponds to the Instrumented Function that you want to unlink from the Common Cause Failure.

    A confirmation message appears, asking if you really want to delete the Common Cause related Instrumented Function.

  5. Select OK.

    The Common Cause Failure is unlinked from the Instrumented Function.
