Link a Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System

IMPORTANT: If you modify a Protective Instrument Loop Element that is linked to more than one Protective Instrument Loop, the changes that you have made are reflected in all the associated loops.

Note: Linking a Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System alters the calculations of the loop. Therefore, you must verify the calculations again in the GE Digital APM system.

Steps

Access the Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System to which you want to link another Sensor System.
In the upper-right corner of the datasheet, select Link.

The Search window appears.
In the upper-right corner of the datasheet, select .

A list of Protective Instrument Loop Sensor Systems appears.
Select the check box that corresponds to the Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System that you want to link, and then select OK.
If the Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System that you want to replace is also linked to another loop, select Proceed.

Note: If you want to access a list of Protective Instrument Loops linked to the Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System that you want to replace, select Show Details.

If the Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System that you want to replace is not linked to any other loop, a message appears, indicating that the Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System will be deleted. Select OK.

The original Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System is replaced by the one that you have selected.

Results

The existing Protective Instrument Loop Sensor System is replaced by the one that you have linked. If the existing Sensor System is not a part of another loop, then the record is deleted. Otherwise, the record is unlinked from the loop.
In addition to the Sensor System that you have linked, all the Sensor Groups and Sensors in the loop also become a part of the loop, replacing the existing ones. If these existing records are not part of another loop, then they are deleted. Otherwise, the records are unlinked from the loop.
Linking a record alters the calculations for the loop. The GE Digital APM system performs the calculations again.
