Access a Common Cause Failure

This topic describes how to access a Common Cause Failure that is linked to one or more Instrumented Functions.

Steps

Access the Instrumented Function that is linked to the Common Cause Failure that you want to access.
In the workspace, select the SIL Assessment tab, and then select Common Cause Failures.

The Common Cause Failures section appears, displaying a list of Common Cause Failures for the Instrumented Function.
Select the Common Cause Failure that you want to access.

The datasheet for the Common Cause Failure appears.
If needed, modify values in the available fields.
In the lower-right corner of the datasheet, select Save.

The changes made to the Common Cause Failure are saved.

Results

The changes made to the Common Cause Failure are reflected in all the Instrumented Functions linked to the Common Cause Failure.
