Unlink Assets from a System/Node

This topic describes how to unlink one or more Assets (Equipment and Functional Locations) from a System/Node.

Hint: You can unlink Assets from a System/Node only if the corresponding Hazards Analysis is in the Planning state.

Note: You cannot unlink an Asset that is linked to the System/Node through a Cause or a Safeguard. You can, however, link the Cause or the Safeguard to a different Asset, which will also:

Unlink the Asset from the Hazards Analysis.
Unlink the Asset from the System/Node.
Remove the Asset from the corresponding Asset Group.

Steps

Access the System/Node from which you want to unlink Assets.
In the workspace, select the Linked Assets tab.

The Linked Assets section appears, displaying a list of Assets linked to the System/Node (which also includes the Assets linked to all the Causes and Safeguards in the System/Node).
Select the check boxes that correspond to the Assets that you want to unlink.
In the upper-right corner of the section, select .

A dialog box appears, asking if you really want to unlink the Assets.
Select OK.

The selected Assets are unlinked from the System/Node.

Results

The Assets that you have unlinked from the System/Node are automatically unlinked from the corresponding Hazards Analysis and the Asset Group.
