Equipment, Locations, and ACA Systems

Each ACAAn Asset Criticality Analysis record and all the records that are linked to that record. Using the ACA interface, you can evaluate the criticality of systems and the individual locations and pieces of equipment that make up those systems by defining the consequences and probability of the failure events that may occur. In this way, you can determine which of your systems, locations, and pieces of equipment have the highest risk of failure in your facility. In other words, using the ACA interface, you can determine which of your systems, locations, and pieces of equipment are critical. system can be linked to:

• Only Equipment.: Use this option if you want to evaluate the criticality of only pieces of equipment that are not moved between locations.

  -or-

• Only Functional Location.: Use this option if you want to evaluate the criticality of only pieces of equipment that are often replaced with other pieces of equipment.

  -or-

• Equipment and Functional Location.: Use this option if you want to evaluate the criticality of both pieces of equipment that are not moved between locations, and pieces of equipment that are often replaced with other pieces of equipment.

In the baseline database, the ACA System family is related to the:

• Asset Group through the Group Has ACA System relationship family.

Furthermore, the Asset Group family is related to the:

• Equipment family through the Group Has Asset relationship family.
• Functional Location family through the Group Has Asset relationship family.

These relationships are illustrated in the ACA data model.
