The work area, shown in the following figure, is the window that displays your iFIX and ActiveX documents. Whenever you open a document, the iFIX WorkSpace displays the file in the work area and automatically activates the tools needed to modify it.

For example, when you double-click a picture, it appears in the work area window and all the tools associated with modifying a picture become active. It's almost as if you started a separate graphics program and opened the picture. This feature makes creating and modifying iFIX documents fast and easy because you do not need to leave the iFIX WorkSpace or search for the appropriate application to launch. All of the tools you need are built-in and ready to use.
