About Predix Edge Technician Console

Predix Edge Technician Console offers an on-premise,localedgemanagement UI product to manage edge devices without connectivityto the cloud. PETC also has a light running memory footprint (25 MB for Tier 1 devices, and 100 MB for Tiers3 and 4). PETC is deployed as an easily consumable multi-container app that is fully tested in a well-defined package for a turnkey solution. PETC offers capabilities for device setup and management.

PETC provides user authentication and authorization withOAuth, as well as multi-user management with two roles (Admin and Technician). PETC performs certificate-based device enrollment and presents basic device status information.

In addition, PETC allows for configurations of Network Time Protocol, network, DNS, and Docker settings. Furthermore, PETC provides full journal logging, exposing more parameters to allow users to query specific logs. The UI will provide a preview of the logs, as well as the ability to download the logs. PETC’s device management capabilities enable the user to perform Host OS updates on the device to update the underlying Edge OS. Container-based application and VM deployment, update, monitoring, and management will also be supported.The user will also be able to deploy configurations to the device through PETC.
