Over the last few years, the manufacturing space has experienced continuous and exponential change. From commercial headwinds and tariffs to the emergence of AI as a source of new and different insights to drive business optimization, there is always a new item to add to any manufacturers list to maintain their position in a very competitive market space.

Off the shelf software vendors like GE Vernova’s Proficy platform have helped deliver industrial solutions to those exact problems faced by our customers for more than 40 years. Proficy Plant Applications, CIMPLICITY, iFIX, Proficy Operations Hub, and Proficy Historian help our customers execute with the best plan and access to insights from products designed to work as one portfolio. We constantly innovate to bring the best features to our customers to make their mission statements ever more achievable.
Modern Data Management With Proficy Software

Proficy Data Hub – A powerful operations intelligence software

Today, we are working to deliver a new tool to our customers. A tool that will leverage the alignment and synchronization of our applications: the Proficy Data hub, a powerful operational intelligence and applications model for Enterprise Scale. Proficy Data Hub is perhaps the most exciting development from Proficy in many years. We are bringing the power of modern data management to the portfolio to help our customers get the most from the tools they already own and to bring data from many sources together to drive the best results from modern AI and analytic tools. The new solution aims to solve common problems arising from the increase in manufacturing data collection ability and that we have been hearing about for some time:
  • Configuration variability
  • Integration complexity
  • Appropriate context for correlations, and
  • Effective data democratization across their enterprise

Proficy Data Hub Capabilities

Proficy Data Hub delivers 4 main components:
  • Data Model: Common context for all Operational Assets that different IT/OT applications can associate with and single configuration for all Proficy data mapping. Standardization across different sites
  • Directory Service: Unified connections within Proficy and with variety of third-party applications/models needed for data democratization projects
  • Unified Namespace (UNS): Single context to be used across Analytics, Optimization and Execution applications at a site and across different sites
  • Data Fabric: A simple, unified approach to exchanging data and plugging in applications needed for a total Operations Management solution
With our unified approach of connecting the Proficy portfolio capabilities like Task Execution, Alarm Management, Historian, manufacturing execution system (MES) and Analytics/Optimization we will allow customers to have the best blend of time to value in data synchronization and the easiest time getting to new and better insights from their data. Central configuration and maintenance will allow all our customers to standardize their data governance around the Proficy tools and to drive down the time it takes to get value from it. Centralization positively impacts productivity, teams will see efficiency gains in standard work around data management. Data Hub will also benefit from flexible deployment on cloud, hybrid, or on-premises.

How is GE Vernova’s approach different than Competition

There are plenty of solutions in the market that talk about Data Fabric, Data Hub, or Unified Namespace.

However,
  • All these solutions are only overlaying a data context and moving data from one application to another. They are more dataflow solutions where integration effort is still complex
  • None of these solutions have a portfolio of industrial solutions that drive customer’s operations and primarily are the source for the execution, control and generating data from the operations.
  • None of the solutions can claim being able to Centrally configure and templatize an entire Operational solution for a site and then deploy the template across different sites as customers want to scale their solutions.
With Proficy Data Hub, all the elements of the Proficy Suite will share a common model so that all the data collected across the platform is in a shared context. Let’s talk about how you can get the most out of the data available to you and uncover insights you didn’t know existed.
