GE Vernova Announces Chief Financial Officer Transition

3 min read

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., (August 27, 2026) – GE Vernova (NYSE: GEV) today announced that Claire McDonough will join the company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Claire will join in November 2026 before transitioning fully into the CFO position on January 1, 2027.

The appointment of Claire concludes an extensive process to identify the right CFO for the next stage of the company’s profitable growth after Ken Parks shared his desire to retire in 2027.

“I want to thank Ken for his impactful leadership as the first CFO for GE Vernova,” said GE Vernova CEO Scott Strazik. “He successfully leveraged his prior three public company CFO roles to build a strong foundation of financial processes while continually exhibiting a deep understanding of our business and strong ability to translate complex topics into clear and compelling messages.” Ken will continue as GE Vernova’s CFO through 2026 inclusive of the third and fourth quarter earnings calls and the publishing of the 2026 10-K and will then transition into a Strategic Advisor role in the first quarter of 2027 and retire in April of 2027.

Claire currently serves as CFO of Rivian, a position she has held since 2021. During her tenure, she guided Rivian through its initial public offering (IPO) and has managed multiple complex, multi-billion-dollar initiatives—including Rivian’s joint venture with Volkswagen Group. She is responsible for the Company’s financial activities including financial planning & analysis, accounting, treasury, tax, and investor relations. She is also lead for Rivian’s corporate and business development, strategy, vehicle maintenance and repairs, facilities, and charging network.

“I’m incredibly excited to welcome Claire as our incoming CFO,” Strazik continued. “She brings a sophisticated blend of capital markets expertise and hands-on operational leadership. Claire is a highly disciplined, detail-oriented leader who thrives in complex, mission-driven environments. I am confident she’s the right leader for GE Vernova as we continue to grow profitably as a company and advance the future of energy.”

Before joining Rivian in January 2021, Claire served as a Managing Director in Investment Banking and co-head of the Disruptive Commerce Group at J.P. Morgan. Prior to this, she held various financial leadership roles at Fairway Market and Credit Suisse. She has also served on the Board of Directors of AutoZone since 2025. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University where she was a two-sport varsity athlete. She earned her Master of Business Administration at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
