Benefits

Start up faster when warm…or hot

Benefits of warm startup

  • Typically allows starting the ST in warm “start 1” conditions, leading to a start-up time saving of up to 40 minutes and a fuel saving up to 15%
  • The HP and IP ST are kept in warm conditions (or pre-warm). Target temperature for the critical zone of the rotor is 210°C

Benefits of hot startup

  • Reduced start-up time;
  • Reduced start-up fuel consumption
  • Reduced start-up emissions
  • Reduced start-up related steam turbine rotor stress
  • Advanced preservation of ST and condenser (short- and long-term)
