Dr. Jeffrey Goldmeer

Director, Hydrogen Value Chain, GE Vernova

Jeff Goldmeer is a global expert who has been recognized as providing industry leadership in the use of alternative fuels for power generation and decarbonization technologies. He has been invited to present to and/or be part of meetings sponsored by the US Department of Energy, the US Department of State, the US National Academy of Science, the Pennsylvania House Committee on Environmental Resources and Energy, as well as Princeton University and the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions.

In his role, he's affectionately known as the "fuel guy,” with his work focusing on harnessing energy from natural gas, hydrogen, and other fuels. Jeff confronts the pressing issue of decarbonization, striving to reduce carbon emissions in the power generation industry while meeting growing energy demands. He co-hosts the award-winning "Cutting Carbon" podcast, where he and Brian Gutknecht, Marketing Leader at GE Vernova, engage a broad audience in discussions about the challenges and solutions for the planet's energy future.

Exploring STEM both in and beyond the workplace

When he’s not helping solve big-picture issues related to decarbonization, or producing his next podcast, Jeff is helping educate the next generation about energy solutions. He also helps judge entries in the FIRST Robotics Competition, a competition geared towards high-school aged kids interested in STEM for an experience that combines science and technology, with the energy of a sporting event.

"

One of my passions is teaching people, and educating and helping,” he says. “Decarbonization is a topic on which we can’t do enough. We need to take action, and it doesn’t only need to be massive steps. If everyone does their part, if everyone just does a little bit, it’s amazing what that can add up to.

On a personal note, Jeff is a cancer survivor and is passionate about the importance of self-care. (He noticed a mass which led to early detection and treatment of his cancer in 2021 and 2022).
