Overview

Celebrating the commercial operation of PLN Indonesia Power’s H-Class gas power plant.

The challenge

Indonesia’s growing energy needs, coupled with its commitment to phase out coal and achieve net-zero emissions by 2060, required a new solution for cleaner, flexible, large-scale power generation.

The solution

GE Vernova provided the Tambak Lorok power plant with a 9HA.02 gas turbine, an STF-D650 steam turbine, and a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), delivering flexible, efficient, and lower-emission power to the Java grid. The project also includes a 12-year service agreement for ongoing maintenance and operational support.

"

Tambak Lorok project represents a milestone for Indonesia, adding to the system a large-capacity plant that brings stability to the country's electricity matrix. We trust GE Vernova, Marubeni Corporation, and Hutama Karya have delivered the highest standard of quality and safety in building this power plant.

Edwin Nugraha Putra

The Tambak Lorok plant is a key part of Indonesia’s strategy to address growing electricity demand and enhance grid stability as it retires coal plants. The project not only addresses the immediate need for more power but also aligns with the national policy to lower emissions. GE Vernova’s commitment to Indonesia includes a comprehensive service agreement, operational training, and future-proofing with advanced hydrogen-ready technology.
