GE Vernova’s Gas Power One Field Services works to help ensure grid stability and supply supplementary power when and where it’s most needed. A few days after hurricane Maria seriously damaged Puerto Rico’s grid in 2017, the team was already on the ground, prepping for the arrival of two TM2500 aeroderivative gas turbines by boat. These turbines were instrumental in quickly restoring much-needed power to Puerto Rican homes, hospitals, shelters, and other critical disaster relief infrastructure.

The team was also in Haiti in 2021, when the island nation was thrown into political turmoil following a one-two punch of an earthquake and subsequent tropical storm. Getting to work each day through riot-filled streets proved challenging; yet with the help of corporate security, the team successfully completed its assignment.

In addition to these exceptional circumstances, the team was also on hand to help provide supplemental power to nations like Switzerland and Mexico during seasonal spike periods in the winter and summer months.
