- Jessica Uhl to join as President overseeing R+D and Business Development
- Pablo Koziner to serve as Chief Commercial Officer
CAMBRIDGE, MA: January 18th, 2024 – GE (NYSE: GE) today announced that GE Vernova has made two updates to its leadership team as the organization advances towards its planned spin-off in the beginning of the second quarter of 2024 and prepares to become a stand-alone company focused on the energy transition.
Jessica Uhl will join the team as President, reporting to GE Vernova CEO Scott Strazik and effective January 22, 2024. In this role, Jessica will guide GE Vernova’s strategic roadmap on technology, innovation, and growth, leading GE Vernova’s world-class research and development and business development teams. She joined the GE Board in 2023, and upon spin will transition off the board to concentrate her efforts on her new role.
“I’ve had the privilege to work closely with Jessica as a member of the GE Board, and with her proven leadership and extensive experience in the energy sector, I believe she is uniquely positioned for this role and will further strengthen our purpose-driven culture,” Strazik said. “She brings both domain expertise and practical skills to enable GE Vernova to innovate, grow and lead in the energy transition at scale and to advance our mission of electrifying and decarbonizing the world.”
“Jessica was one of the first people we met in assembling the spin-ready GE Vernova Board and management team,” said GE Chairman and CEO and GE Aerospace CEO H. Lawrence Culp, Jr. “We were excited to get her on the Board and now thrilled, after getting closer to the people and business, that she’s joining the management team full-time.”
Jessica brings more than two decades of experience in the energy sector, having run global businesses in power, renewables and the oil and gas sector. She is currently Co-Chair of the Mission Possible Partnership, an organization focused on delivering the decarbonization of industry and transportation at scale, and serves on the Board of Directors of Goldman Sachs. Jessica – who has been named to both the Forbes and Fortune lists of Most Powerful Women – was the CFO and on the board of Shell plc from March of 2017 until April of 2022. Jessica graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD in France.
In addition, Pablo Koziner will serve as Chief Commercial Officer, also reporting to Strazik and effective January 22, 2024. In this role, Pablo will focus on strengthening the customer experience and maximizing GE Vernova’s inter-connected scale across its Power, Wind and Electrification businesses in key customer growth markets in support of the energy transition.
“In his first few months in the company, Pablo has already become an incredibly valuable and trusted partner for me on how we run our company better and focus our entire organization even more on the customer,” said Strazik. “I’m confident that under his leadership we will be well-prepared to take our next step as a stand-alone company that accelerates the energy transition in lockstep with our customers.”
Pablo joined GE Vernova as Strategy Leader from Nikola Corporation last year bringing extensive global energy and commercial experience gained throughout his career. At Nikola, Pablo led their commercial sales, hydrogen fueling and battery charging businesses. He previously spent more than 19 years at Caterpillar Inc. where he served as president of Solar Turbines, vice president of Electric Power, and in various roles leading dealer relations.
